Saturday Stampin'

Its that time again already!  Saturday Stampin'!  Its funny how fast a month can go by, isn't it?  Today I will be having a bunch of ladies, AND GUYS, over for a morning of stamping and having fun.  This is a time where I focus on simple, quick cards.  Most of the time I run to splitcoaststampers.com for inspiration.  Here are two of the cards we are going to make today:

I am glad that I had these cards ready to go before my vacation to New Orleans.  Now that I am home, I am back to work at my full-time job, and I am totally distracted by my new chickens!  If you are interested in checking them out, I have them on their own blog that my whole family will contribute to.  It is called "Cracked", and can be found at wehavechickens.blogspot.com.

Mardi Gras

I just got back last night (at midnight, ugh!) from being in New Orleans visiting family, and catching a couple of the big parades.  It was SO much fun, and SO different than I expected.  I have to say my favorite part of the whole trip was the coffee and beignets at Cafe du Monde!  

No really.  It really was my favorite part...

Well obviously I have not been home to create new projects.  Can you really blame me?  But I still wanted to share something fun with you, so I found this neat idea on Stampinup.com.  I just LOVE the new Sale-A-Bration embossing folder!  What a neat idea, and I cant wait to translate it onto a card for club next month!

I also came across this cute little project by Artisan Award winner Marisa Gunn.  Don't you LOVE the new designer brads?  Not to mention the totally awesome Artisan Embellishment Kit!

AND the amazing Core-d-nations Cardstock!  *meep* So cute.

I will be back at it next week, and look forward to sharing more with you!  And by the way, the King Cake was pretty awesome too, even if I did get the baby! 

(That means I am the King, but also have to throw the next party!) Hmm...

My daughter Alexa and I ran a 5K together last weekend.  It was Valentine's themed, and they gave us candy and chocolate at the mid-point water station!  

What?  Yes, really.

We ran with a group of ladies and we all wore pink and white Tu-Tu's and tiaras, but we had already taken them off to go have some breakfast when we remembered that we should take a picture.  It was Alexa's first race!  We didn't win... In fact we barely survived, and complained about it the whole time, but it was fun. (It's a "runner" thing, ha ha)

Inky Fingers Sneak Peek

Saturday Stampin' is an event I have been holding for three years now.  We meet at my home in the morning, on the 4th Saturday of each month.  This "stamp camp" is just $10, and we make two each of 4 simple, no-frills cards.  I design half of them, and the other half are designed by my friend and team member, Delaney Martin.  Check my calendar for more details.

I was thrilled to make it to Leadership for the first time this year, in Orlando.  I made a few of each of these and gave people a choice.  I was thrilled when people truly had a tough time deciding!
